The holidays can be a time of cheer! The Woodlands, Texas is home to many fun, holiday happenings around this time of year that are fun events to attend no matter what winter holidays you celebrate. Check out some of these fun holiday happenings to enjoy with your friends and family in the Woodlands!   

Market Street in Lights    

Market Street in the lights is not something you want to miss this holiday season! Whether you are shopping for the holidays or just walking to grab a bite to eat at one of your favorite restaurants on Market Street, you can enjoy an electric light show. November 17-December 31 is home to a beautifully lit up Market Street with all kinds of holiday lights! During this time of year, thousands of lights on a 70-foot-tall Christmas tree light up Market Street, a popular shopping and dining area. While on Market Street, enjoy the light show synchronized to some popular holiday songs. The tree lights up and runs its performance daily from 5:30-9:30pm. 

The Woodlands Ice Rink 

The Woodlands Ice Rink is a seasonal attraction, opening from mid-November to mid-January each year. This indoor ice skating rink is located in Woodlands Town Center. The ice rink has lights and music. There are also tables for parties and concessions for purchase. Enjoy the winter weather by enjoying this indoor skating rink and you can pretend we’ll have snow around for the holidays this year in Texas! 

Pictures and Meet and Greets 

There are all kinds of photo opportunities around the holidays. Get your pictures taken with Santa at the Woodlands Mall, meet Santa at the Learning Zoo, have breakfast with Santa at the Woodlands Resort, or meet Olaf at the Woodlands Children’s Museum. The holidays can be a fun time to go out and be with family, and it can be especially fun to get photos this time of year with loved ones. Meet Olaf or Santa this December by visiting the Woodlands. 

Participate in Fun Events   

There are many different fun events going on this time of year. You can learn about Hanukkah with Storybook Theatre at the Woodlands Children’s Museum. Kids can participate in a flashlight candy cane hunt with the Woodlands Township, running around with flashlights to pick up candy canes scattered around Terramont Park. Other fun holiday events include decorating gingerbread houses with Mrs. Claus at the Woodlands Children’s Museum, celebrating the holidays with fun musical activities like fingerplays, the Reindeer Pokey, and Jingle Bells at the Woodlands Children’s Museum, or watching the Polar Express on Grace Church’s big screen (indoors or outdoors).  

Fun for More than Just the Kids   

While there are many fun activities for children around the holidays, we recognize that you want to have fun, too! Participate in Jingle Boats, kayaking from Riva Row Boat House, searching for wrapped presents along the shores of the Waterway. Bring your dog out to Feliz Navi-Dog at Bear Branch Park for a treat hunt and socialize with other dog owners while enjoying hot cocoa. You can also watch Elf, the Musical, listen to the Mistetones Holiday Carolers carol on Market Street, or listen to An Uncommonly Merry Christmas with Common Ground Band, Houston’s premier Las Vegas style band.
